Scott M. Hofer is Professor, Department of Neurology, at Oregon Health & Science University and Professor and Harald Mohr, M.D. and Wilhelma Mohr, M.D. Research Chair in Adult Development and Aging in the Department of Psychology and Centre on Aging at the University of Victoria, Canada. He is Past President of the Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Divisions 5 and 20), Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, Gerontological Society of America, and the Royal Statistical Society. His interests include aging-related changes in cognitive and physical capabilities, the identification of lifespan factors and health-related causes underlying change in functioning, and evaluation of differences across birth cohorts and countries. His research makes use of intensive measurement designs to understand within-person dynamics between psychological and physiological processes across different temporal scales and for the sensitive detection of individual change-points in cognitive functioning.
